This year we made it to 3 shows. The results are as follows: True North Miniature and Pony Show Olmsted County Fair (July)
Misty's Magic Maker (Mac) took home - 1st for halter 2 & under stallions and geldings - Grand Champion overall for halter 2 & under - 2nd for open ribbon race This being the first time he has been off the farm, I found a few training holes but overall he was a real trooper. I was very impressed with how he handled everything. Wave Runner’s Artistic Expression (Sue) took home - 1st in 2 & under mares - Reserve Grand Champion 2 & under halter - 1st in most beautiful eyes She also did a wonderful job at her first show and seemed to really enjoy meeting all of the people that stopped by her stall. Rolling Bay Sugar Pixie (Pixie) took home - 2nd in 3 & over mares - 6th in most beautiful eyes - 1st in showmanship - 1st for in-hand pony hunter - 1st for in-hand pony jumper - 1st in barrel and egg race - 2nd in open ribbon race - 4rth for in-hand trail - 3rd for ground driving - Overall high point pony! For not being in the show pen since 2016 and only practicing the day before the show, I am so proud of her! She is such a special little mare and remembered all of the training hours I put into her back in the day. I am so blessed to have her! True North Miniature and Pony Show Washington County Fair (August) Misty’s Magic Maker (Mac) got himself a pretty neck ribbon for reserve champion in pony halter! He did in hand jumping for the first time but needs more practice and did well with in hand trail but got a bit scared of the fake rocks (who knew they could be so intimidating). All in all I’m very happy with how well he is doing and seems to improve a bit with each show! Wave Runner’s Artistic Expression (Sue) placed - 3rd in pony halter - 6th in multi-color - 1st in most beautiful eyes - She also did in-hand jumping and trail class but needs more practice in both. I really can’t say enough good things about this filly, she is truly a gem and so willing to tackle whatever I throw at her! Rolling Bay Sugar Pixie (Pixie) - 6th in pony halter - Didn’t place in showmanship due to my error - 3rd pony hunter - 1st in pony jumper - 6th in barrel and egg race - We didn’t place in bribe a horse but she sure was cute trying! - 5th for in-hand trail - 2nd in ground driving obstacle Minnesota Pinto Horse Association (August) Misty’s Magic Maker (Mac) - 5,5,5 Pony Halter He gets a little more relaxed at each show and I was very happy with how he handled all of the minis/horses, overnighting a new place and the new environment in general. We still have some work to do on his patience during halter classes but overall he did a great job. Wave Runner’s Artistic Expression (Sue) - 3,5,5 Pony Color Sue continually impresses me with how calm and willing she is. The new environment didn’t seem to phase her one bit and she seemed to enjoy being out and about. I’m looking forward to seeing how she does in the show ring next year! Rolling Bay Sugar Pixie (Pixie) - 5,6,7 AM Pony/Mini English Showmanship - 3,3,3 Pony Hunter Fences in Hand - 5,5,5 Pony Jumping in Hand - 7,7,7 AM Pony/Mini Jumping in Hand - 4,4,4, Pony Trail In Hand - 6,6,9 AM Pony/Mini Trail In Hand - 4,4,4 AM Pony/Mini Western Showmanship Pixie was such a trooper and I was so proud of how well she did! We had a blast and I will certainly try to get to more Pinto shows next year!
