I have some extremely exciting news to share but first, let me start at the beginning. ⬇️ Back in 2016 I was doing a college visit in Ohio and on a whim decided to reach out to Sue and Joe Lowery of Wave Runner Chincoteague Ponies to see if they would let us visit. I had been following their farm online for a few years and thought it would be fun to meet them and the ponies. There was one pony in particular that I wanted to meet, a 2014 colt by Surfer Dude x Diamonds Jewel, his name was Phantom. They graciously allowed us to visit and during the course of our visit they hooked Phantom up to a pony cart and we all took turns driving him around the pasture. It was so special and I was greatly touched by their generous hospitality. Unfortunately, a few years later, Sue passed away and I never had another chance to see her.
In 2022, I happened to run into Joe during Pony Penning week. It was fun to reconnect and we exchanged phone numbers to stay in touch. The next Spring we were talking about our new foals and he sent me a picture of a stunning splash filly by Phantom and Kenzie. My heart stopped when I saw her, she was so perfect. I jumped at the chance when Joe said he was selling her, I just couldn’t pass her up. So last Fall I made the trip out to Ohio to bring her home and gave her the name “Wave Runner’s Artistic Expression” with the barn name “Sue” in honor of Sue Lowery. When I picked Sue (the pony) up last Fall I told Joe that if he ever decided to sell Phantom and Kenzie to let me know. This week I made the trip out to Ohio and I brought them home. I still can’t believe it, they are everything I hoped for and more! Thank you Joe for entrusting me with these incredibly special ponies, I will treasure them always! ❤️ Please join us in welcoming our newest herd members! 🎉 🐴 Wave Runner’s Phantom of the Waves 2014 island bred stallion by Surfer Dude x Diamonds Jewel https://chincoteaguepedigrees.com/pedigree/pedigree.php?id=564 🐴 Wave Runner’s Kenzie 2018 island bred mare by Ken x Kimmee Sue https://chincoteaguepedigrees.com/pedigree/pedigree.php?id=1654 I am beyond excited to add these two phenomenal Chincoteague ponies to our herd and can’t wait to see their upcoming 2025 foal!
